The Northern Camino is a truly unique journey along the northern coast of Spain. Traversing the regions of the Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia, the trail winds its way through a variety of spectacular coastal and mountainous landscapes, not to mention authentic seaside villages and famous cities. Starting in the vibrant Basque city of San Sebastian, the Northern Camino takes you as far as Oviedo, capital of Asturias, where you will connect with the beautiful Camino Primitivo, the oldest of all the Camino routes to Santiago. This particular section of the Northern Camino links two of the most beautiful cities on the whole route, Bilbao and Santander, and features some popular coastal tourist towns like Castro Urdiales and Laredo.
